Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a
"deluxe" classed hotel resort in the
Walt Disney World Resort in
Lake Buena Vista, Florida and opened on April 16, 2001.
The resort is located very close to
Disney's Animal Kingdom and has an African theme that blends
in seamlessly to the large preserve it is built on. The hotel is
unique in that it affords guests the opportunity to watch
wildlife graze outside their rooms within proximity, conveying
the feeling of being in an actual African savannah.
This hotel was designed by architect Peter
Dominick, who also designed
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. All three properties are
somewhat similar.
